4th September - 8th September (Week 17)

It is a new week after the school holiday! Also, it will be a hectic week for all the teachers because the uniformed body camp will be held this weekend. Out of nowhere, I was appointed to be the emcee for the closing ceremony of the camp later.

Due to my duty only on the last day of the camp. So I helped my friends to prepare hampers for the camp participants later. I helped my friend sort and pack the food Miss Kuah had bought, so we arranged it neatly and sealed the hamper.

I look fine in the picture, but I've had a fever since last week. When I came home from school, my head was dizzy, and my body temperature was rising. I asked Penolong Kanan's permission to take a medical leave on 6 September (Wednesday). But when I met the doctor, he said my body temperature was quite high and gave me medical leave for 2 days, from 6 September (Wednesday) to 7 September (Thursday).

My condition is not fully recovered yet, but I still have to attend school and teach as usual. The students who saw my presence at school greeted me and prayed for my health because they knew I still had to join the camp with them on 8 September (Friday).

On 8 September (Friday), students and teachers involved with Perkhemahan Perdana Badan Beruniform SMK Cochrane Perkasa 2023 must be at school at 2:30 p.m. The students had to meet Puan Aswati for registration and were separated into 3 buses. Each bus needs to have at least two teachers. Therefore, I have been separated from my friends. I was assigned to take the third bus, and Abyana and Fazleen had to take the second bus.

At precisely 3 p.m., we boarded the bus and headed straight to Chalet Desa Bagan. The journey took 1 hour and 30 minutes to arrive at the place. We had to go through Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA.

Once we arrived at Chalet Desa Bagan, the facilitators immediately started the ice-breaking activities for the students. The teachers had been giving rooms, so we headed to our room and took a rest. After Asr's prayer, we went outside to monitor student activities. On their first night at the place, various activities were carried out for the students, including how to set up a tent, emergency help and a night of self-reflection.

The next day, my friends and I woke up early to join the aerobic session with the students. The students had so much fun with their friends. Even though some of them were fined for dancing in front. But they still enjoy the moments together.

After the aerobic session, the students and teachers ate breakfast in the dining hall. After breakfast, the activity continues by walking using a rope. I really enjoy teasing my students. Some of the students confidently continued the activity regardless of the interference from the people around them.

When the activity happened, Abyana, Fazleen and I had to wait by the hall to hold the students' valuables, such as glasses, participant tags, room keys and so on. This is because they not only have to walk while holding the rope. In some areas, they must continue their journey by crawling and lying down.

In the afternoon, the students had to complete a few tasks at the beach. The teachers take turns to send the students to the beach. 118 students attended the camp. So, the teachers had to do a few trips to send them to the beach.

For night activities, the students carried out night walk activities in the palm oil plantation area. The darkness in the place was terrifying. Teachers must participate in the activity to handle the students' checkpoints. The students were released individually and had to return to the camp area. After that, the evening activities continued with the cultural night.

Before participating in the night walk, the teachers held a BBQ feast. After the evening prayer, each teacher helps prepare food together. After the BBQ, the teachers, especially the practicum teachers, were asked to join the night walk with the students. After the night walk, student activities continued with a cultural night and campfire.

On our last day at Bagan Lalang, 10 September (Sunday), their last activity was the closing ceremony of Perkhemahan Perdana Badan Beruniform 2023. As the master of ceremony, I have to handle the ceremony smoothly. Although there is no complete tentative and the occurrence of tentative changes at the last minute is annoying, I managed to run my first experience successfully.

After the closing ceremony, the students continue to board the designated bus accompanied by teachers who will board the bus. The bus was very quiet all the way back to school. All the students, including the teachers, slept on the bus very tiredly. This is our first experience as teachers on duty while at Chalet Desa Bagan. In the fun we had, some unpleasant things happened. But let the bad stuff be kept among us only. Anyway, I am delighted to be able to keep these sweet memories with my fellow teachers who helped a lot, not forgetting the students who always entertained us throughout the camp.
