18th September - 22nd September (Week 19)

We still have another week to end our internship period. I started feeling so sad because I needed to let them go. Some of them beg me to stay, but there is nothing I can do to stay here with them.

"Do you really need to leave teacher?" – Najla 4C

"Why don't you just stay until the end of the year?" – Divyan 4B

"Teacher Athirah is the best English teacher I have ever learned with." – Wan Fikri 4B

"Later, who will help us with sports and Kadet Bomba's activities?" – Aniq 5C

"After this, I can't run to you whenever I receive a new gossip." – Hasbul 5C

"No more Gen Z teachers that would understand us." – Qis 4E

"Who am I supposed to talk about Carhartt and Stussy stuff after this, teacher?" – Aiman Danial 4E

All questions and confessions came from the students I teach in class; some were not even from my class. I spent most of my journey in SMK Cochrane Perkasa to keep my bond with the students so they feel comfortable having a teacher to talk to. It was hard for me, but it was time to let it all go and keep it as memories. They will miss me in a very short time and continue their life as usual.

As an educator for these pupils, keep chasing your dream and never let all the obstacles stop you. Life is too short to waste it; do everything and try anything that you love and enjoy. Even if you want your life, you must put education first. People will not look at you if you have no knowledge. Each of you is smart, but you are too lazy to even realize it.

However, this week's lessons have been carried out as usual. I've entered every class and taught them new topics. As of 20 September (Wednesday), the Co-Curriculum Unit has released this week's activity schedule. From 1:10 p.m. to 2:40 p.m., I will be involved with the fire cadet meeting. While at 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., there is a meeting on sports and games. As I have already informed you, we are only given uniform units and association clubs.

During the fire cadet meeting, Hasbul, a student in charge, wanted to do "Kawad Operasi Hos Kering." Most of the students were first time holding a hose. They needed to lift the hose over their shoulders. Then, they were taught how to open and pack a dry hose. Some students try to avoid doing the activity. But I told them, "Men can't be weak," and they challenged me to lift and put the hose on my shoulder. I'm not up for a challenge, so I pick up the hose and put it over my shoulder. The host is lighter than expected. Then, all the students started cheering and continued the activity until the end.

Meanwhile, on 22 September (Friday), the school held another farewell ceremony for En Aizam, Pn Norha, and Pn Ashikin. Pn Ashikin, who usually called herself Kak Kin, was my deskmate in the teacher's room. She always shared some tips on how I should handle the students, and she always reminded me that being a teacher is not just a job. It is the responsibility of every educator to continue educating sincerely.

After the ceremony, all teachers gather in the ERT room for the banquet. When the meal was going on, Datin Norsiah took the opportunity to give some consolation to us, who were about to finish our practicum.

On 23 September (Saturday), the school has received a letter of instruction from the education department to carry out Civil Cooperation in every school. Coincidentally, substitute school was also held on that day. Therefore, the school took the opportunity before the break to carry out mutual cooperation involving teachers and students.
